August 29, 2024 - Effective today, Prime Factors will no longer offer EncryptRIGHT Primary, Redundant, and Expansion Server instances for IBM AIX operating system platforms. However, Prime Factors will continue to offer and support EncryptRIGHT Client instances for AIX operating system platforms.
EncryptRIGHT’s architecture is designed to deliver flexibility and scalability of deployment, broad resiliency, and up-to-date, consistent data protection policy enforcement to protect data wherever it is used, moved, or stored. A typical EncryptRIGHT deployment consists of a Primary Server, where data protection policies (DPPs), along with administrative controls and key management, are centrally defined, and a Redundant Server designed to mirror the Primary Server for resiliency. Once DPPs are defined in a Primary Server (and backed up in a Redundant Server) they are synchronized to either Expansion Servers or to EncryptRIGHT Clients. Expansion Servers provide centralized processing of data protection through Web APIs, which can be called by any application running in any environment. EncryptRIGHT Clients provide local processing of data protection from the same application server (in the same OS) in which a program needing data protection is running.
Starting August 31, 2024, Prime Factors will only offer EncryptRIGHT for IBM AIX as a Client instance. Customers currently using EncryptRIGHT Primary, Redundant, and Expansion Servers on IBM AIX under an active support contract will continue to receive Standard Maintenance & Support until August 31, 2025, at which time support for Primary, Redundant, and Expansion Server instances of EncryptRIGHT for IBM AIX will be discontinued.
Note: Applications running in AIX will be supported by Primary, Redundant, and Expansion Servers for either Windows or Linux, or with EncryptRIGHT Clients for IBM AIX, which Prime Factors will continue to offer and support moving forward.
End of Sale:
Effective August 31, 2024, Prime Factors will no longer offer EncryptRIGHT software for Primary, Redundant, and Expansion Servers for IBM AIX operating systems. This announcement will not affect the availability of EncryptRIGHT Clients for IBM AIX, which shall still be offered by Prime Factors.
End of Support:
Prime Factors will continue to support existing installations of EncryptRIGHT Primary, Redundant, and Expansion Servers for IBM AIX through August 31, 2025. This announcement will not affect maintenance and support for EncryptRIGHT Clients for IBM AIX, which shall still be supported by Prime Factors.
Recommended Actions:
Prime Factors recommends that customers migrate their EncryptRIGHT Servers on IBM AIX to either Windows or Linux operating systems. Prime Factors’ dedicated support team is available to assist customers in the migration of their server instances to supported operating systems.
